Let’s face it when one is happy there is no stress and better yet no complications to our lives. We live in a society that is going a hundred miles per hour and seems to never stop to refuel.

Having a happy life starts with making your surroundings enjoyable and your abode a pleasant place to live in. When we come home from work we want to kick off our shoes and place ourselves in a relaxing state. If your surroundings are messy then it is hard to relax. A clean quiet room is the place to start to relax.
After you sit back and are relaxing and feeling calmed from the days work or activities it is time to think of a place that makes you happy. Be it a field of daisies or a swimming pool floating on a raft. Making you feel happy and relaxed is a crucial part to a healthy life.
In a healthy life, relaxing and meditation can be a part of you day, even at work. You can sit back in your chair and think of your relaxing place. At times doing this technique several times a day you will find you are able to deal with the work stresses in a better manner. Becoming irate toward others just makes your day bad as well as theirs.
In conclusion it does not cost you anything to relax and think of a calm place to be. Just take a bit of time in your busy schedule to do this and soon your days will be more at an even keel. You will find that you are calmer when you are faced with hectic problems!

Beauty with Herbal Skin Care

The skin is essentially the largest organ in the body and performs many vital roles as both a barrier and a regulating influence between the outside world and the controlled environment within the body.
Skin type differs between individuals; sensitive skin is skin that stings easily, especially during or just after cleansing. Oily skin attracts dirt and bacteria and may lead to acne and pimples. Normal skin also needs regular regime for health.
Water alone as a cleanser is not quite enough: removing dirt and grease that sticks to the skin forms a major aspect of cleansing. Use of soaps in skincare will dry the skin and lead to itchiness. Lemon (Citrus Limon) and honey (Meldespumatum) are alternatives to soap as lemon removes grime and oil while honey has antibacterial, antiseptic properties and prevents scar formation. Honey is increasingly being used to treat infected wounds and has been found to be effective in common wound infections.
Jasmine (Jasminum sambac) provides a cooling effect through its good smelling volatile oils and has healing properties, especially for oily or sensitive skin.
Sunflower (Heydichium spicatum) has soothing properties and is regularly used as a massaging agent.
Sandal tree (Santalum album) is useful for alleviating itchy and inflammatory conditions of the skin. It is commonly used as a household remedy by applying a paste of sandalwood on skin rashes and itchy skin.
Carica papaya (papaya) is a small tree with straight and soft stem with leaf scars on it. The fruits are a good source of pection. It removes freckles and smoothes the skin.
The juice of lemon is rich a source of vitamin C. it protects the skin from skin from oxidative damage and helps in preventing pruritus.
There are many natural herbs are available which helps us in skin care.

Cleanliness For Good Health

Cleanliness for good health.Personal cleanliness ,like good nutrition,is a health habit which benefits the entire body. You have seen that it is important to the health of your skin, teeth, and hair, and that it is a safeguard against infection. It is also important to your mental health. There is more to cleanliness than having clean skin and hair. You hair should be arranged neatly and attractively.Your clothes, too, should be clean, pressed and comfortable.

It is certainly true that one not only looks better when his body and clothes are fresh and clean,he also feels better. Exercise. You know that in order to be healthy you must have some physical activity daily. The kind of exercise and the amount will depend upon your physical condition and,to some extent, your It will also depend upon other circumstances-for example, whether or not you have companions with whom to do thing. Exercise develops not only the muscles, but other organs of your body as well. From both team games and individual sports you will get a sense of confidence and well-being.
You may have herd people, even high school students, grumble that they do not get enough exercise.
They may give a variety of reasons.Lack of time is one But this is not a good excuse. No matter how busy people are, they have a little leisure time
Some people claim that they have no place in which to exercise.Yet there are generally a number of possibilities,if one looks.Public parks provide tennis courts, riding trails, swimming pools, and skating rinks. There are many recreation centers. Of course, one can always go for a walk.

Tips Looking Younger

How long have you been 25 (and older)? And many say that 20 is the new 40 these days. There was a time when you can still run away with it, but now, are people starting to doubt if you really are as young as you say you are? Ok, so you probably look younger than your age, but your lie should be believable. And to do that, you have to be very youthful and fresh. Defy the aging process with the following tips.

Change your outfits. Look at the fashion today and see if your clothes resemble the ones you see in magazines, or if they look grandma-ish. What you wear says a lot about you. Since you’re getting a bonus this year, spend some of it on new and trendy clothes. Throw out those mommy jeans.

Work out. All the hip women of today are looking awesome because of their toned abs and arms. Join them by spending a few minutes of your time on a treadmill.

Sport a trendy hairstyle. Finding the right hairstyle will do wonders for your look. Bangs can hide wrinkles. In choosing the right style, consider your face shape and complexion. For best results, go to a pro stylist.

Wear make-up. Some women hesitate to wear make-up because it “covers natural beauty”. But it’s not at all true. Given the right make-up, your natural beauty can be enhanced and protected from the damaging effects of pollution and aging.

Research is being done to find out what the apparent benefits of drinking wine or alcohol in some populations may be due to, including the role of antioxidants, an increase in HDL ("good") cholesterol or anti-clotting properties. Clinical trials of other antioxidants such as vitamin E have not shown any cardio-protective effect. Also, even if they were protective, antioxidants can be obtained from many fruits and vegetables, including red grape juice. The best-known effect of alcohol is a small increase in HDL cholesterol. However, regular physical activity is another effective way to raise HDL cholesterol, and niacin can be prescribed to raise it to a greater degree. Alcohol or some substances such as resveratrol (res-VAIR'ah-trol) found in alcoholic beverages may prevent platelets in the blood from sticking together. That may reduce clot formation and reduce the risk of heart attack or stroke. (Aspirin may help reduce blood clotting in a similar way.) How alcohol or wine affects cardiovascular risk merits further research, but right now the American Heart Association does not recommend drinking wine or any other form of alcohol to gain these potential benefits. The AHA does recommend that to reduce your risk you should talk to your doctor about lowering your cholesterol and blood pressure, controlling your weight, getting enough physical activity and following a healthy diet. There is no scientific proof that drinking wine or

Health is Collective Respons

Health is created in interaction between individuals, families and the local and extended networks and communities in which individuals participate. Close, everyday relationships influence our attitudes, perspectives on life and behaviour, including in relation to health.
Health is also created by people’s living conditions and by the framework for people’s lives, such as housing conditions, the working environment, the external environment, food safety and the health services available.
The best way to develop and disseminate efforts to improve public health is by recognizing our responsibility and taking action based on this. Individuals are responsible for their own lives. Everyone has the right to live their lives as they wish: to make their own choices. But people’s choices affect them and may influence other people positively or negatively. Individuals have responsibility for themselves, for their family and friends and for participating in communities.
Communities are everyday contexts in which people participate such as schools, sports clubs, neighbourhoods and workplaces.
People have responsibility for one another in such communities. In communities people help to create each others’ lives. Communities – local social and extended networks – contribute to forming and changing our norms. This also applies to both positive and negative changes in health behaviour in a broad sense, including lifestyles, environmental behaviour and behaviour related to road traffic. Local social networks, such as the parents of the schoolchildren in one class, neighbours and co-workers, greatly influence how people act. Communities can support individuals and individual families, but they can also isolate and distance themselves from individuals, such as in bullying at school or mobbing at work.

Benefit From Broccoli

Biological Background: Broccoli is a dark-green vegetable with small, tight heads (curds) mounted on stem-like buds, and is a member of Brassica family of the Cruciferous vegetables.

Nutritional Information: One cup of chopped and cooked broccoli (146 g) provides 46 calories, 4.6 g protein, 8.7 g carbohydrates, 6.4 g fiber, 178 g calcium, 1.8 mg iron, 220 RE vitamin A, 0.13 mg thiamin, 0.32 mg riboflavin, 1.18 mg niacin, 98 mg vitamin C.

Pharmacological Information: Broccoli is a spectacular and unique package of versatile disease fighters and abundant in numerous strong, well-known phytochemicals and antioxidants, including indoles, isothiocyanates, quercetin, glutathione, beta carotene, vitaminC, folate, lutein, glucarate, and glutathione. Broccoli is extremely strong in anticancer activity, particularly against lung, colon, and breast cancers. Like other cruciferous vegetables, it speeds up the removal of estrogen from the body, helping suppress breast cancer. Broccoli is rich in cholesterol-reducing fiber and has antiviral and antiulcer activity. It is a super source of chromium that helps regulate insulin and bloodsugar. Broccoli is also a good source of calcium, thus help fight osteoporosis. However, brocoli is one of the leading intestinal gas producers.

Tips Naturaly Strong Bones

If you want strong bones, get your daily calcium intake from dietary sources such as milk, yoghurt and cheese, not from supplements. After studying 168 healthy postmenopausal women consuming calcium as either a supplement, from dietary sources or as a combination of supplements and diet, researchers from the US found higher bone densities in the women who consumed most of their daily calcium from dietary sources. This even held true when the supplement takers had a higher average calcium intake than those consuming dietary sources of calcium. When researchers looked at the women's levels of the oestrogenic metabolites, they found that the women with dietary sources or mixed sources of calcium (combination of diet and supplements) had higher levels of the active metabolite 16-hydroxyestrone than women who received most of their calcium from supplemental sources. This correlates with a greater bone mass density and thus more favourable effects on the bone health of postmenopausal women, than calcium from supplements. The mechanisms which underlies these effects are still unknown, but it's always best to get your vitamins and minerals from food because they contain all the extra benefits that supplements don't.

Chinese Medicine for Chronic Fatigue

Regardless of Western medical terminology, Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) characterizes all illnesses as imbalances of organ function or poor circulation of qi (pronounced chi), or energy, and blood in the body’s channels. In chronic cases with many diverse symptoms, we try to ascertain how, where, and why organ and channel dysfunctions are happening, and we work to restore an original, natural state of health with a combination of Chinese herbal medicines and acupuncture.
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) is a complex pattern of symptoms, including fatigue, depression, fibromyalgia, chemical sensitivity, headache, “brain fog,” poor memory, changes in appetite, and sleep disturbances.

I believe the true source of CFS is one or more pathogenic microbes, including viruses, bacteria, or protozoa that enter the body during an acute illness that often resembles the flu. The pathogenic microbes can damage a cell’s mitochondria (the cell’s energy factories), leading to profound fatigue. In the case of viruses, the pathogen can disturb DNA replication, leading to the chronic nature of the illness.

In addition to direct microbial invasion, many practitioners in the natural healing arts believe CFS can result from “leaky gut syndrome,” or small-intestine colitis. Leaky gut syndrome usually manifests after one consumes antibiotics, either as medicines or in animal foods. By inadvertently killing the thousands of beneficial and protective intestinal bacteria, the antibiotics allow harmful fungi, such as Candida albicans, or pathogenic bacteria to proliferate. These can then irritate and inflame the internal lining of the small intestine and allow absorption of foods into the blood before they’re fully digested. The body’s immune system will see these as allergens and attack them.

In the end, the intestines’ permeability disintegrates, and microbial and chemical toxins are absorbed into the blood, overwhelming the immune system as well as the liver’s ability to detoxify. Some chemicals stay in the blood, affecting brain function. Others precipitate into the connective tissue surrounding muscles, causing fibromyalgia.
The key treatments in Chinese medicine focus on regulating and detoxifying the liver and repairing small-intestine inflammation and permeability. This requires specific herbs to move liver qi and blood and to cool any inflammatory heat. As the liver regains its ability to detoxify, poisons exit the body.

Benefit of Beans

Beans also are high in insoluble fiber that helps cleans your colon of well, you know. Since 80% of women are irregular, beans should be a part of their diet. During the fermentation process in the large intestine, bacteria break down resistant starches producing short chain fatty acids (SCFA). These acids help reduce the occurrence of pre-cancerous lesions. Soluble fibers tend to regulate the passage of insoluble fiber through the colon allowing the entire colon to benefit from the SCFA production. In addition to improving regularity, beans may reduce the risk of colon and rectal cancer. Beans are high in antioxidants. Studies have shown that antioxidants are great at grabbing cell damaging free radicals in your body. This is believed to reduce aging and cancer risk, possibly even prevent certain types of cancer. Darker colored beans like black beans and red beans are very good sources of antioxidants. Beans contain phytoestrogen, a vegetable form of the estrogen naturally produced in the body. Phytoestrogen or dietary estrogen helps reduce the risk of breast cancer. There are conflicting studies on the benefits of phytoestrogens, but they generally agree that in healthy women they reduce breast cancer risk. In women with cancer histories they may stimulate tumor growth. Then people with a history of cancer would be more likely to have a recurrence. If you have a history of cancer, consult your physician. Beans help fight HIV/AIDS. No there is no magic anti-retrovirus in beans, they are just good nutritionally and do contain peptides. They do contain a little nutritional magic. Beans and staples like rice, bread and other starches combine during digestion to make valuable protein. In poorer nations with a high incidence of HIV/AIDS, this low cost protein helps maintain a healthier population. Beans also contain peptides that help inhibit HIV entry into healthy cells. For any AIDS sufferer, the combination of the colon cleansing properties and nutritional value of beans improve digestion. Beans and bacteria in the large intestine combine to form gas. This is not a bad thing or there would be less humor in the world. Seriously, eating beans regularly helps reduce gas production in the large intestine by letting your digestive tract adapt. Initially, if you are not a bean eater, you will experience more gas with beans or any high fiber food. What happens during the adaption process is a little vague, since there is no change in bacterial fermentation products or bacterial levels. The why may be questionable, but regular consumption of beans will reduce embarrassing gas attacks as mentioned by North Dakota State University agriculture department.

How it Works Your Heart

The normal heart is a strong, hard-working pump made of muscle tissue. It's about the size of a person's fist. The heart has four chambers. The upper two chambers are the right artium and left atrium, and the lower two are the right ventricle and left ventricle (see Figure A in diagram). Blood is pumped through the chambers, aided by four heart valves. The valves open and close to let the blood flow in only one direction. The four heart valves are:
Each valve has a set of "flaps" (also called leaflets or cusps). The mitral valve normally has two flaps; the others have three flaps.

Dark bluish blood, low in oxygen, flows back to the heart after circulating through the body. It returns to the heart through veins and enters the right atrium. This chamber empties blood through the tricuspid valve (B) into the right ventricle.
The right ventricle pumps the blood under low pressure through the pulmonary valve into the pulmonary artery. From there the blood goes to the lungs where it gets fresh oxygen (C). After the blood is refreshed with oxygen, it's bright red. Then it returns by the pulmonary veins to the left atrium. From there it passes through the mitral valve (D) and enters the left ventricle.
The left ventricle pumps the red oxygen-rich blood out through the aortic valve into the aorta (E). The aorta takes blood to the body's general circulation. The blood pressure in the left ventricle is the same as the pressure measured in the arm.

Dangerous headaches

Many people suffer from a form of headache known as the coital or sex headache that impairs their ability to enjoy sexual relationships and undermines their relationships with their spouses or partners. The rare, but more dangerous “new onset” headache during sex may indicate a serious problem as it may be caused by a brain haemorrhage. Many patients describe the pain (similar to a sharp blow to the head) as the worst headache they have experienced. Patients should seek urgent medical treatment if they believe they have been hit by this form of headache.
In most cases, sex headaches are thought to be caused by an increase in blood pressure and muscle tension during sexual activity, says Shevel. The sex headache is a rare example of a headache form that is more common in men than among women. It occurs in men between the ages of 18 and 60. Factors that may put a person at greater risk of coital headaches include stress, tiredness and a history of headaches.

Women who are over 40, have recently started an exercise programme or already suffer from migraines or tension headaches are more likely to have coital headaches than most other women. The six weeks immediately after childbirth is also a high-risk time for coital headaches among women.

Says Shevel: “The good news is that benign coital headaches are usually easy to treat. Some patients report that they can avoid some headache attacks by slowing down their sexual activity and increasing their excitement more gradually. Switching to a less active position or relaxing after sex also often help.” Sex headaches often disappear when the patient is under less stress in his or her day-to-day life.

In some cases, and especially among women, sex headaches may reflect the sufferer’s anxiety about her relationship with her partner. In this case, she and her partner should seek relationship counselling.

Healthy Food For Diabetics

There is no doubt that diabetes is a disease complex and it is a necessary condition, suffering from diabetes, you have more time to understand the food you eat. You are what you eat and in a serious extent you believe you eat.

When you start to wrong decisions food ensures that the disease is even worse, and this last thing you want to do. It is therefore imperative that you get to eat a healthy diet.

We have to break some food and explain how they can help. Firstly, fibre; fiber is wonderful, because it helps control his blood sugar level. It does so by reducing and limiting the consumption of refined sugar. You can get a lot of fiber from fruit, vegetables, beans, peas and whole grains.
Protein has advantages, because it helps us feel more satisfied, in other words, less hunger. Suppose, for example, that had two dishes, rich in carbohydrates and high protein others, the latter will be more saved.
The bottom line is this protein no longer requires insulin, sugar absorb quickly and that is why you have ups and downs, even if there are dishes from carbohydrates.
That does not mean that you cut out carbohydrates, everything has its place and the body needs at least thirty grams per day. With regard to the proteins do not worry so much food as you like. In order to substantially reduce sugar and eat lots of protein.
Foods containing carbohydrates, bread, pasta and potatoes. We quickly fat, you want to avoid saturated fats derived from milk products, unsaturated fats "OK" in limited quantities. Your best fats are simple.
Finally, the key is balance and understanding that we eat, and there is absolutely indispensable ingredients.

Causes of Cancer

Several types of cancer, including cancer of the lungs, mouth, pharynx, skin and colon, can be prevented to varying degrees. What is required is efforts to reduce smoking, alcohol consumption, carcinogenic substances in the working environment, human-caused exposure to ionizing radiation (such as that used for radiography), ultraviolet radiation (from sunlight), overweight and radon in the environment. Efforts to reduce smoking would have the greatest effects by far, as about 25% of all cancer cases among men and 15% among women result from smoking. For example, smoking causes 85% of all lung cancer cases. Carcinogenic substances in the working environment cause about 3–5% of all cancer cases. Diet and exercise are also believed to be very important in the development of cancer, but this is difficult to quantify.
How can cancer be prevented?
Primary prevention targets the known risk factors for certain types of cancer, which are described under the targets for risk factors. Prevention aims at eliminating or reducing the exposure of the population or individuals to these risk factors. Attempts can be made to prevent a few types of cancer by screening: breast cancer, cervical cancer and cancer of the colon. Nevertheless, prevention through screening requires effective treatment at the preliminary stages of each type of cancer. Screening does not reduce the number of people with cancer but can reduce mortality. Screening for breast cancer, cancer of the colon and cervical cancer can reduce mortality from these types of cancer in the relevant age groups by an estimated 20%, 15% and 50%, respectively.

Facts About Obesity

The prevalence of obesity among those older than 16 years in Denmark increased from 5.5% in 1987 (250,000 people) to 9.5% in 2000 (400,000 people). The number of overweight people increased from 1.3 million to 1.7 million in the same period.
Obesity increases the risk of several diseases, including cardiovascular diseases, non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, certain types of cancer and degenerative injuries from wear on the musculoskeletal system. Obesity reduces women’s fertility and increasing problem among children and youth. Most overweight teenagers remain overweight as adults. It is important that children develop healthy and regular dietary habits and derive pleasure from exercising. This can be achieved by creating health-promoting environments in children’s daily lives and by having the adults who spend time with children support and encourage them in developing good dietary and exercise habits.

Health is a Collective Responsibility

Healthy Good Skin

Drink a lot of water. Your body is composed mainly of water and it is a necessary component of all the natural processes that occur there. When you drink water it not only hydrates your insides but it hydrates your skin as well. Drinking enough water is also one of the best "diets" for weight loss. You should drink at least eight 8 oz. glasses per day.

Stay out of the sun. The ultraviolet rays of the sun are VERY damaging to your skin. Use sunscreen when you are out in it. Be careful of the reflected rays even if you are in the shade. A moisturizer or foundation containing sunscreen is highly recommended for everyday use. I mean EVERY day.

Get plenty of rest. Think that beauty sleep is just a myth? Think again. Proper rest is very important to your overall health and the health of your skin.

Eat Healthy Foods Simple foods are good for you in a lot of ways. They provide essential nutrients; vitamins, minerals and fiber, and are often lower in calories than processed foods. You know the kinds of foods I mean. Beans, rice, vegetables, yogurt, lean meats-there are many more. Cook with olive oil. Use onions, garlic and other high-mineral foods. Many herbs and spices, besides seasoning your supper, also contain beneficial substances. See my Natural Foods page for more information.

Do some type of exercise regularly. Exercise stimulates your entire system to rid itself of built-up toxins. You don't have to buy a treadmill or join a gym (unless you like that kind of thing). Gardening, playing golf, hiking in the woods, whatever you choose to do to get your blood moving is a step in the right direction. Try parking your car a few blocks away from work. There is no doubt that regular activity will begin to make you feel and look better. Once you are accustomed to the walk you may even begin to look forward to it!

You could take up a sport. Even playing frisbee can provide a good cardiovascular workout. It can also improve your strength and hand/eye coordination. Stretching exercises of all kinds are good for working and flexing your joints and muscles. You can do these anywhere; in the middle of your walk, in your living room or kitchen with a chair, even in bed. So get moving! Once you are hooked on activity you may even have to break out that treadmill for rainy days!

Reduce stress. Easier said than done right? Research has shown that stress is a contributing factor in many health problems. If you are not healthy your skin is not going to look healthy. Take some time out just for you. A luxurious bath is a great stress reliever (Perhaps with some nicely scented oil or salt!). So is relaxing with a good book, a cup of hot Earl Grey tea, watching the sun set, taking a walk, or just sitting and watching birds at a feeder outside your window. Most importantly you must be comfortable with yourself. You have to find happiness in what you are doing RIGHT NOW.

Daily Steps to Health

Don’t Smoke.
